The Burnout Prevention Framework
Healthy, happy people perform better. It’s that simple. Yet many high-performing organisations are losing their best talent to overwhelm, stress and burnout, resulting in huge turnover and training costs.
The question is no longer whether mental health matters in the workplace. It’s whether you can afford to ignore it.
I work with forward-thinking organisations – global tech companies, media and law firms, financial institutions and mission-led charities – to embed a Burnout Prevention Framework that supports sustainable high performance, boosts productivity and unlocks the kind of creativity and focus that drives real business results.
This isn’t about wellness as a perk or a tick-box exercise.
It’s about mental wellbeing as a performance strategy.
Lived Experience
My talks combine powerful lived experience with more than two decades of mental health expertise and practical wellbeing tools.
I draw on first-hand experience of an eating disorder, addictions, anxiety, depression, burnout and breakdown while working at the peak of my profession as a Reuters political journalist, along with more than 20 years of healing and recovery.

Flourishing & Thriving, Not Just Surviving
By sharing my compelling story of addiction, breakdown and burnout while working at the peak of my journalism profession, as a political correspondent based in the Houses of Parliament, and the steps I took to break through, recover and rebuild my life, my intention is to:
- Inspire, motivate and support individuals and teams to achieve their full potential while maintaining their mental, emotional and physical health and wellbeing
- Raise awareness about the signs of burnout, breakdown, depression, eating disorders, alcohol addiction and chronic stress and share strategies and tools to support people to protect their wellbeing and seek help before they hit the wall
- Encourage leaders and teams to embrace vulnerability as a strength and as a powerful tool to connect with others, paving the way for healthier, more effective workplace relationships

- Burnout and breakdown while at the peak of my journalism profession, covering elections, tsunamis, earthquakes and terrorist attacks for Reuters
- Workaholism, chronic stress, anxiety, depression and imposter syndrome
- Dysfunctional relationships, with myself and others
Given my professional background and personal story, I am ideally suited to speak to audiences in high-adrenaline, high-stress professions, especially in the media, politics, medicine, finance, technology and law.
How I Can Help
The most successful organisations prioritise the mental, emotional and physical health of their employees, knowing that wellbeing is not only good for the individual, but is also essential for effective teamwork, productivity and performance.
If you are committed to creating an environment that supports individuals to flourish – to thrive, not just survive – my talks can support your organisation and the individuals within it to:
- Understand the importance of wellbeing and mental health and truly appreciate how badly things can go wrong when we neglect these vital areas
- Understand why individuals may avoid sharing their inner struggles and learn how to create an environment where everyone feels safe to share
- Become aware of the red flags that may signal that we or others are engaging in self-harming behaviours or nearing breakdown or burnout
- Understand the basic tenets of individual and organisational wellbeing and implement a plan to support people to prioritise their mental health
